The release of the RTX 4070 Super was mired in controversy for various reasons. We covered most of them when we reviewed the Nvidia Founders Edition.
Yesterday saw the launch of the RTX 4070 Ti Super, and today we have the Gigabyte Super Aero, another in their long line of Aero branded products. If the RTX 4070 Super was hard to place due to a very muddle range from Nvidia, including some price movement that didn’t really make any of them especially attractive. Thankfully the RTX 4070 Ti Super is much simpler to place and, thus, consider.
It is, like the regular Super, also a beefed up version of an existing card. The table below shows how it compares to all the extant models. It’s another step up without treading on the toes of the RTX 4080. Where we think it really shines though is that Nvidia have ceased production of the RTX 4070 Ti. That makes the Super a direct replacement, and priced exceedingly similarly. More performance for the same price. That’s what a refreshed design should be. Evolution not revolution.
The Gigabyte Super Aero takes the RTX 4070 Ti Super platform and gives it their excellent Aero cooler design. It’s white, which suits one member of the OC3D team particularly.
