Powercolor RX 7800 XT Hellhound OC3D Review

Introduction

If you’re familiar with PowerColor’s range of AMD Radeon based cards then you’ll surely be aware of their famous Devil models. Recently they have introduced another option to their suite in the form of the PowerColor Hellhound range. We reviewed the RX 7900 XT version back in April. We’ve got their latest model on hand today, the PowerColor Hellhound RX 7800 XT. A particular highlight for this one is that it is white. You know how much that interests a certain member of the OC3D team.

Straight away from the image that graces the top of this review you can see it’s not just a white shroud either. PowerColor have gone all in on ensuring that this edition of the Hellhound leaves no stone unturned in its quest to stand out from the pack.

If you’ve been following along with the 7000 series of Radeon cards you’ll know the RX 7800 XT is the second from the top. This means that you get some ray tracing ability, albeit not as much as the newest Nvidia ones. AMD will soon catch up we’re sure. However, all the cards we’ve seen so far from this range have monster performance in every other regard. Especially if your game supports the FidelityFX Super Resolution. As you’ll soon see, or might already be aware, that can be a true performance changer.
