Guerrilla Games reveals their PC release date and features for Horizon: Forbidden West

Horizon: Forbidden West is coming to PC on March 21st

Today, Guerrilla Games and Nixxes have confirmed that Horizon: Forbidden West will be launching on PC on March 21st. On PC the game will be available through both Steam and the Epic Games Store, with pre-orders starting today.

Horizon: Forbidden West is coming to PC in the form of Horizon: Forbidden West – Complete Edition. This new version of the game ships with bonus content and the game’s Burning Shores expansion.

With their new “PC Features” trailer for the game, Sony has confirmed that Forbidden West will be coming to PC with Ultra-wide monitor support, DirectStorage support, an unlocked framerate, and DualSense controller support. Nixxes has confirmed that Forbidden West will support, 21:9 Ultra-wide, 32:9 Super Ultra-Wide, and even 48:9 resolutions.

On PC, Horizon: Forbidden West will feature extensive support for modern upscaling technologies. This includes support for Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology, AMD’s FSR technology, and Intel’s XeSS technology. At this time, Nixxes has confirmed that Forbidden West will support DLSS Frame Generation on PC, but have not confirmed that their game will support AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation.

Nixxes has also confirmed that Forbidden West will also support Nvidia’s DLAA and Reflex technologies on PC.

Forbidden West is a sequel to 2017’s Horizon: Zero Dawn, which launched on PC in 2020. While the game launched on PC with some issues, Horizon: Zero Dawn now has a solid PC port, and its success paved the way to Sony’s full-on embrace of the PC market.

With Nixxes at the helm, we expect good things from the PC version of Forbidden West. Nixxes has previously created the PC versions of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remaster, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, all of which have great PC versions. On PC, gamers can expect graphical settings that go beyond Forbidden West’s PlayStation 5 version. This will allow PC gamers to push the game to new visual heights, if they have powerful enough hardware to do so.
