Intel’s new 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs now have Black Friday Discounts

Alder Lake’s getting some Black Friday love 

Intel’s Alder Lake processors have only been available for a few weeks, but thanks to the magic of Black Friday, all of Intel’s latest processors are now available with some Black Friday discounts. Intel’s Alder Lake processors were already well enough priced to make us question AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series pricing. Now, when combined with these deals, it is easier than ever to consider Alder Lake for your next gaming system. 

Starting at the lower end of Intel’s 12th Gen lineup, the Alder Lake i5-12600K launched in the UK with a £289.99 price tag. Today, though Overclockers UK, the CPU costs £244.99. The cost-reduced CPUs are OEM models, but even then, the pricing is excellent.  

What’s better than Overclockers UK’s deal for Intel’s i5-12600K is their deal for the i5-12600KF. The i5-12600KF is essentially an i5-12600K without Intel’s integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU). If you use a discrete graphics card, there is little reason to buy an i5-12600K over the KF version, as there are few reasons to need its iGPU. At Overclockers, Intel’s i5-12600K costs £235.99, which is much cheaper than AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600X, a processor that Intel’s i5-12600K can handily beat in most benchmarks (see our Intel i5-12600K review). 

  
What about the i7? 

Overclockers UK’s discounts for Intel’s i7-12700K and i7-12700KF bring both models close to the price of AMD’s discounted Ryzen 7 5800X. Both the i7-12700K and the i7-12700KF offer users eight Performance cores (P-Cores) and four Efficient Cores (E-Cores), allowing both processors to surpass AMD’s 8-core Ryzen 7 5800X in many workloads. 

With Intel’s Alder Lake P-cores being so potent, these i7-12700K/KF prices make it hard to consider AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X. Many reviews place AMD’s Ryzen 9 5900X in the same performance realms as the i7-12700K in multi-threaded workloads, smashing the Ryzen 7 5800X. 

Is the i9 Discounted?

Yes, but not as much as the i5 or the i7. At launch, we found Intel i9-12900K prices as low as £579.99 in the UK, with Overclockers UK’s lowest Black Friday price being £548.99. This is a great price for the i9, especially given how well it can compete with AMD’s Ryzen 9 5950X in multi-threaded workloads.
