Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed on Last-Generation Consoles

Hogwarts Legacy will launch exclusively on current-generation gaming platforms – Users of last-gen systems will have to wait

Avalanche Software and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment have announced that the last-generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy have been delayed until April 4th 2023, and that the game’s Switch version will arrive even later on July 25th.

On PC and current-generation consoles (Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5), Hogwarts Legacy is due to release on February 10th. No specific reason has been given for Hogwarts Legacy’s delay on last-generation consoles, though it is likely that the game needs additional development time so that the game can be optimised for these older, less advanced gaming systems.

Regarding the matter, the Hogwarts Legacy team had this to say about the game’s last-generation delay on Twitter.

Hogwarts Legacy will launch on April 4, 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on July 25, 2023 for Nintendo Switch. The team is looking forward to bringing you the game and we want to deliver the best possible game experience across all platforms.
