Twitter users urge Musk to step down in official poll

Musk says he will “abide by the result”, but will he?

Over 17.5 million Twitter users have voted, and 57.5% of them has asked Elon Musk to step down as Twitter’s CEO in a poll that Musk has stated that he will “abide by the results of”.

So far, Musk has not commented on the poll since its closure, leaving many to question whether or not the billionaire technology tycoon will accept the will of Twitter’s users. Musk is fond of quoting “vox populi, vox dei”, a Latin saying that loosely translates to “the voice of the people is the voice of God” when polls go his way. This time, it remains to be seen how Musk will react to this poll.

Elon Musk is the CEO of both Tesla and Space X, and he has recieved a lot of criticism for becoming the CEO of a third company. Today, Musk’s attention is split between three very different companies, and the value of Tesla’s stock has plummeted since Musk started his acquisition of Twitter. Since his acquisition of Twitter, many are now questioning whether or not Musk should remain the CEO of Tesla.

Since his acquisition of Twitter, Musk has made many controversial changes to the platform, most of which have now been reversed. Recently, Musk has banned the accounts of many journalists on the platform, a choice which saw Musk condemned by the United Nations and European Union.

At this time, it is unknown how Twitter will change following Musk’s poll, or if Musk will abide by the result of his poll. It has been speculated that Musk intentionally created this poll to give himself a reason to resign, as some reports have claimed that Elon Musk’s investors are pressuring him to resign.
