The Witcher 3 Next-Gen’s first PC patch has arrived, and more are planned

Today, CD Projekt Red has released their first PC update for The Witcher 3’s Next-Gen version, offering PC gamers overall stability and performance improvements alongside fixed for both the GOG and Steam overlays.

On Steam, The Witcher 3’s 1st Next-Gen patch weighs in at 3GB, while the same update on GOG is 1.9GB. CD Projekt has confirmed that this patch will be the first of many The Witcher 3 Next-Gen updates, as the studio plans to improve their updated classic further on all platforms.

At this time, we do not know how much The Witcher 3’s next-gen new PC update will impact the game’s performance on the platform. Currently, PC’s new version of The Witcher 3 is said to be incredibly demanding, especially when the game’s new ray tracing features are enabled. CPU performance has been cited as a common issue for many gamers, and we hope that today’s update is able to deliver significant performance increases for PC gamers. That said, the fact that further updates are planned are a clear sign that there are more bugs and performance issues to be fixed.
