Nvidia’s reportedly targeting a $799 MSRP for its RTX 4070 Ti
Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti is reportedly $100 less expensive than their cancelled RTX 4080 12GB
Rumour has it that Nvidia plans to launch their RTX 4070 Ti graphics card at CES at their GeForce Beyond Special Address on January 3rd. This graphics card is the replacement for Nvidia’s unlaunched RTX 4080 12GB graphics card, and several sources have now claimed that Nvidia is currently targeting a $799 price point for their new graphics card.Â
If Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti launches with an MSRP of $799, Nvidia will have effectively dropped the price of their RTX 4080 12GB from its originally revealed $899 pricing with just a name change. That said, Nvidia’s MSRP pricing only reflects the pricing of Founders Edition graphics cards and lower-end AIB models, with most GPUs costing significantly more.
Nvidia’s $799 price point for their RTX 4070 Ti makes the GPU roughly half as expensive as the company’s RTX 4090 graphics card, and specs-wise the graphics card features half as much GDDR6X memory, and fewer than half as many CUDA cores. How this graphics card will compare to AMD’s recently released RX 7000 series remains to be seen.
