GoldenEye 007 is coming to Xbox and Switch this Friday

Rare’s GoldenEye 007 will be available to play on modern consoles this Friday

GoldenEye 007 is coming to Xbox and Nintendo Switch this Friday, allowing gamers to replay Rare’s classic 1997 FPS. The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S and One consoles with enhanced 4K visuals through Xbox Game Pass or as free DLC for 2005’s Rare Replay, and on Nintendo Switch though the Nintendo Online Expansion Pack.

Nintendo Switch gamers will be an emulated version of the 1997 Nintendo 64 original, though this emulated version will feature online multiplayer and a new Widescreen mode in addition to the game’s classic 4:3 aspect ratio. Xbox Players will have access to a remastered version of the game that will feature higher resolution visuals, the game’s campaign, local split-screen co-op modes, and all of the cheats that the N64 classic included. The Xbox version has also been updated with achievements, native 16:9 support, and support for dual analog sticks.

Sadly, GoldenEye 007’s remastered version does not appear to be coming to PC or any other gaming platform. The game will be releasing on January 27th for Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
