Ubisoft has revealed The Crew Motorfest, and it is launching this year

Ubisoft’s new The Crew game sounds a lot like Forza Horizon

Ubisoft has just revealed a new game for their The Crew series, The Crew Motorfest, an open-world racer that’s based on the Hawaiian island of O’ahu, where a “one-of-a-kind” car festival is being held.

The Crew Motorfest is coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Luna later this year, with the PC version coming to Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store (no Steam version has been revealed). The game’s world is designed to be a “perfect playground for players to have fun together in with their vehicles”, being filled with volcanic slopes, steep mountain roads, rainforest, sunny beaches, and more.

While Ubisoft has said that this game features a “one-of-a-kind car festival”, gamers on Xbox and PC will see a lot of similarities to PlayGround Games’ Forza Horizon series, a series that is well known for being based around a car festival across various global locations (the setting changes with each game). In some ways, Ubisoft’s new The Crew game is seen as Ubisoft does Forza, though it remains to be seen how similar the games are.

The Crew Motorfest does not currently have a release date, but gamers can now sign up for the game’s “Insider Program” which starts this month and will allow gamers to play pre-release versions of the game to give the developers feedback. Currently, the “Insider Program” is limited to PC gamers for its initial stages, but testing will start on consoles when the game reaches a more finalised state.
