Atomic Heart’s PC system requirements raised ahead of launch

Atomic Heart will be harder to run than expected

Mundfish has updated the PC system requirements of their Bioshock-like dystopian shooter Atomic Hearts, revealing that PC gamers will need more powerful systems than what was previously communicated by the developers. Both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have been dropped as supported OS’ and RAM, CPU, GPU, and storage requirements have increased, signalling that the game is a lot more demanding that previously expected. 

Now, Atomic Heart is marketed as a DirectX 12 title, which makes sense given the game’s known support for ray tracing on PC. This is also likely why older OS’ are no longer supported by the game, as the game’s DirectX 11 version has supposedly been dropped. Storage requirements have been raised from 22GB to 90GB, highlighting how much the scope of Atomic Hearts has likely changed over the past few years of development.

CPU-wise, Atomic hearts’ minimum CPU is now AMD’s Ryzen 5 1600 and Intel’s i5-4460. Originally, Atomic Hearts’ recommended CPU was a Ryzen 5 1500X, showcasing how far this game’s PC system requirements have been raised. On the GPU-side, this game’s recommended GPUs were AMD’s RX 580 and Nvidia’s GTX 1060, but now they are Nvidia’s GTX 1080 and AMD’s RX Vega 64. If you plan to enable ray tracing in Atomic Hearts, you will need a much more powerful GPU than what is listed below.

At launch, it has been confirmed that Atomic Heart will support Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology on PC, which means that the game will support Nvidia Reflex, Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS 2), and DLSS Frame Generation (DLSS 3) on day-1. At this time, it is unknown if Atomic Heart will support AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 upscaling technology.
