1TB NVMe SSD for under £50 – Kioxia’s EXCERIA SSD is a bargain

1TB NVMe SSD for under £50 - Kioxia's EXCERIA SSD is a bargain

1TB SSDs are getting cheaper, and Kioxia EXCERIA is currently the cheapest

SSDs are becoming more affordable, and today we have seen our first 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD become available for under £50, the 1TB Kioxia EXCERIA. While this SSD is far from being the fastest on the market, with sequential read speeds of 2100 MB/s, it highlights a downward trend for SSD pricing, and effectively puts an end to the time where SATA SSDs were more affordable than their NVMe counterparts.

1TB of NVMe SSD storage for under £50 is a bargain, making this drive a great option for budget gaming systems, affordable laptop upgrades, or home made portable SSDs (when combined with a suitable NVMe enclosure). For those who want something with a little more speed, Crucial’s 1TB P3 SSD is now available for £59.99, offering users 3500 MB/s sequential read speeds.

Affordable 1TB SSDs

– Kioxia EXCERIA NVMe SSD 1TB – £48.98

– Crucial P3 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe – £59.99

– Crucial P3 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe – £122.47

1TB NVMe SSD for under £50 - Kioxia's EXCERIA SSD is a bargain

NVMe SSDs are becoming increasingly affordable, and a lot of that is due to falling NAND prices. Demand for NAND is dropping, and a lot of producers increased their NAND production capabilities in previous years during the pandemic and its associated chip shortage. With demand for electronics dropping, we expect SSDs to get even more affordable over the coming months, which means that we should expect to see more SSD bargains on store shelves soon.
