Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family expands to six more countries

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family plan is now available in more countries

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family plan has rolled out to six new countries, expanding the plan’s reach past its original two country roll-out. Previously, the service was only available in Ireland and Columbia, but now the service is also available in Chile, Hungary, Israel, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sweden.

Xbox’s Game Pass Family and Friends plan allows five gamers to access Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for €21.99 per month, offering gamers a huge discount over five individual subscriptions. The service is controlled by the users who pays the Game Pass Family and Friends subscription fee, allowing them to control who benefits from the service. Up to five users can utilise Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family, so long as they are all from the same geographic region.

With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, gamers get access to Xbox Game Pass, Game Pass for PC, Xbox Cloud streaming, EA Play, and discount on games within the Game Pass Library.

Microsoft has also confirmed that Game Pass’ Friends and Family plan will have a few limitations, only family and friends from the same region to be added to their Family plan, and only the plan’s primary account holder can add or remove people from the friend/family group. Additional limitations can be seen through Microsoft’s FAQ for Game Pass Friends and Family.

Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family expands to six more countries

Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family remains in “limited preview”, and we expect Microsoft to bring the service to more countries in time. Let’s hope that they bring this service to the UK soon, as I know a few friends that will be interested in this service.
