Rocksteady confirms that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League players will always require an internet connection

As part pf Sony’s latest PlayStation “State of Play” event, Rocksteady gave gamers an in-depth look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a co-op action-adventure game that takes place five years after Batman: Arkham Knight. While the game is intended to be played as an online co-op title, the game will be playable in solo mode, and Rocksteady has confirmed that the game will have an always-online requirement.

On the company’s Suicide Squad website, Rocksteady has also confirmed that the game will feature a battle pass system, and that this system will focus solely on providing players with cosmetic items for the game’s antiheroes. Additionally, Rocksteady has confirmed that Kill the Justice League will also receive new playable characters and missions for free as part of post-launch updates.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is intended to be played as a online co-op title, it is disappointing that the game lacks support for offline co-op. This is not only bad news for gamers with unstable internet connections, but it also dooms Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to becoming unplayable when the game’s servers are inevitably shut down. Yes, it is arguable that a patch could be added to remove the game’s online requirement before this happens, but if this is possible, why is it not already part of the game?

While we hope that Rocksteady decides to remove Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s online requirement, we don’t expect the developer to make such a huge change to their game this far into its development.
