Nvidia's latest adds RTX Video Super Resolution and new Game Ready optimisations

Nvidia’s latest driver update adds RTX Video Super Resolution to their RTX 40/30 series GPUs

Nvidia has today released their GeForce 531.18 WHQL drivers for their graphics cards, adding game-ready optimisations to Atomic Heart and the PC beta for The Finals, both of which support Nvidia’s DLSS 3 (DLSS Frame Generation) technology.

The other headline feature of Nvidia’s GeForce 531.18 drivers is the addition of RTX Video Super Resolution support for RTX 40/30 series GPU owners, allowing users to improve the quality of streamed video using the performance offered by Nvidia’s latest graphics cards. This can allow RTX 40/30 series users to upscale lower resolution video content to 4K, adding additional detail to video at the cost of additional GPU utilisation.

Available today with the new Game Ready Driver, RTX Video Super Resolution uses AI and RTX Tensor Cores to improve the quality of video watched in a Chrome or Edge browser by removing blocky compression artifacts and upscaling video resolution. This improves video sharpness and clarity, and lets people watch online content – whether from Twitch, YouTube, Netflix or Hulu – in its native resolution on high-resolution displays up to 4K.
