A new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game has been revealed

If you are a long-time fan of Dragon Ball Z, you have probably played at least one of the Budokai Tenkaichi games. While the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series has been dormant for over a decade, the games remain a strong favourite amongst fans of the franchise, especially Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, which still has the largest roster of characters of any Dragon Ball Z game.

Toei Animation and Bandai Namco have confirmed that they are now working on a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game. While the game has no firm release date, the teaser trailer below does showcase Goku transforming into his Super Saiyan Blue form. So far, fans of the series have been calling the game Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4, though the game has not confirmed name at this time. It is likely that the game may be called Dragon Ball Super: Budokai Tenkaichi, or simply be called Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi.

The Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series is well known for having huge character rosters and large story campaigns that followed the entreaty of Dragon Ball Z storyline. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has 98 characters in total, containing content that covered Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, the Dragon Ball Z Movies, and more. Let’s hope that Bandai Namco’s new game can live up to this legacy. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 deserves a proper sequel.
