The Outer Worlds' new Spacer's Choice Edition is a disaster

The Outer Worlds’ Spacer’s Choice Edition is filled with performance issues on PC and consoles

The Outer Worlds’ Spacers Choice Edition is now available, and gamers on both PC and consoles are complaining about the performance issues that the remastered game possesses. On Steam, the game has a “Mostly Negative” review rating, with most reviews citing performance issues.

The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition’s development was lead by Virtuos Games, not Obsidian Games. As such, complaints about the current state of The Outer Worlds’ Spacer’s Choice Edition should be directed at Virtuos Games and Private Division (the game’s publisher), not Microsoft of Obsidian Games.

To say the least, the current state of The Outer Worlds’ Spacer’s Choice Edition is disappointing, especially given the fact that all gamers have paid for their Spacer’s Choice Edition upgrade. Unlike other current-gen game remasters, The Outer Worlds’ Spacer’s Choice Edition was not a free upgrade for owners of the original game, it is a paid add-on, and paying customers deserve better than this. Even the game’s console players are complaining about performance issues, making the current state of The Outer World’s Spacer’s Choice Edition a problem on all platforms.

The Outer Worlds' new Spacer's Choice Edition is a disaster

Virtuos Games and Private Division revealed The Outer Worlds’ Spacer Choice Edition last week and decided that the game was ready for release in its current state. SHAME ON THEM. They should have been aware of the game’s performance issues and delayed the game’s announcement and release until the game’s performance issues were resolved. Had they did this, they could have avoided these criticisms, and gamers would have been treated with the remaster they deserved.
