Private Division apologises for the current state of The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition

Patches for The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition are coming soon

The Outer Worlds’ Spacer’s Choice Edition is a mess, both on PC and consoles. The next-generation upgrade that promised gamers higher fidelity visuals and better performance, and gamers on both PC and consoles have complaints about the game’s performance on their systems, with the gaming having a “Mostly Negative” review rating on Steam at the time of writing.  

Private Division, the publisher behind The Outer Worlds Spacer’s Choice Edition, has released the following statement to apologise for the current state of their game. The publisher has confirmed that a patch is in the works to address the issues that gamers are currently facing, but they have provided no ETA for this patch, or detailed what their planned patch will change. 

   I am sorry that you all have been experiencing performance issues with The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition. I understand how frustrating this can be, and I assure you the team at Private Division is working on getting a patch out as soon as possible. When we have more information about that patch we’ll be sure to let folks know.

If you run into any other issues while playing the game, please feel free to submit a support ticket to Private Division. They are the dedicated support for The Outer Worlds, and we’re doing our best to funnel all of the information to them, so they can find solutions as quickly as possible.

Let’s hope that Private Division can quickly address the issues facing players of The Outer Worlds: Spacers Choice Edition, as paying customers deserve better than what was delivered by Private Division. Remember that this is not a free upgrade for The Outer Worlds, it is a paid upgrade for existing The Outer World owners, and a full-price retail game for newcomers. Gamers deserve better than this, especially given the fact that the standard version of The Outer Worlds already runs great on PC.
