The Rumours are True! The Chaos Dwarfs are coming to Total War Warhammer III

It’s official, Creative Assembly have confirmed that the Chaos Dwarfs are coming to Total War Warhammer III, with the faction arriving with the game’s “Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs” DLC on April 13th. 

Total War Warhammer III’s Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC will be coming alongside patch 3.0, which means that this DLC will be launching alongside free content for Total War Warhammer III. At this time, Creative Assembly have not discussed what this free content will be, but they have confirmed a lot of early details about their Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC pack. 

With an asking price of £19.99 (£17.99 if you pre-order), Total War Warhammer III’s Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs DLC pack will include the game’s new Chaos Dwarfs faction and include three Legendary Lords. These Lords include Astragoth Ironhand, High Priest of Hashut; Drazhoath the Ashen, Sorcerer Prophet of Hashut; and Zhatan the Black, commander of the Tower of Zharr. Additionally a Legendary Hero is also available in the form of Gorduz Backstabber, a Hobgoblin Chieftain who serves to the Chaos Dwarfs. 

Unlike their uncorrupted kin, the Chaos Dwarfs have access to magic (via the Lore of Hashut), monstrous units, and a host of unique campaign mechanics. The Chaos Dwarfs, the Dawi-Zharr, are not Dwarfs with a simple Chaos reskin, it is a new faction that can access 26 new units which include Chaos Dwarf war machine trains and the monstrous monstrous K’daai Fireborn and K’daai Destroyer units.

The Chaos Dwarfs seek the power of the blood of Hashut to conquer the known and unknown worlds. One of the faction’s mechanics is the Great Drill of Hashut, a tool that is designed to burrow into the domain of their mighty god. To create this tool Chaos Dwarfs will steal and corrupt Dwarfen relics, acts which will create grudges and eventually bring the untainted Dwarfen factions against them.

Creative Assembly have confirmed that they will be showcasing the Chaos Dwarfs faction soon though the release of gameplay videos for each of the faction’s Legendary Lords.
