Diablo IV will support DLSS 3 at launch - Nvidia Confirms

Nvidia confirms that Diablo IV will support DLSS 3 at launch

Diablo IV is launching on PC on June 6th, and users of Nvidia’s RTX 40 series graphics cards will be able to enjoy the upcoming RPG with ultra-smooth gameplay thanks to the addition of DLSS 3, which will be available at launch.

During the game’s open and closed betas, Diablo IV will only support Nvidia’s DLSS 2 Super Resolution technology, but Billiard and Nvidia have confirmed that DLSS 3 support will be available when the game launches.

Diablo 4’s upcoming PC closed beta will be available between March 17th and 19th for gamers who pre-order the RPG, with the game’s open beta (for everyone) taking place between March 24th and 26th. This beta will include Diablo IV’s campaign prologue and the entirety of Act 1. Players will also be able to level up their characters to Level 25.

Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology is a merger of two technologies, DLSS Frame Generation, which uses the power of AI to create AI frames to effectively double a game’s framerate, and Nvidia Reflex, a technology that is designed to decrease a game’s input latency. Together, these technologies enable smoother framerates though the use of AI frames and faster input response, making a game react faster to your actions. Add on Nvidia’s DLSS 2 technology, and Diablo IV players should be able to enjoy extremely high framerates on PC with RTX 40 series GPUs.

Below is a comment from Blizzard’s Michael Bukowski on DLSS 3 in Diablo IV.

Supporting smooth gameplay in Diablo IV is a priority for Blizzard,” said Michael Bukowski, Diablo IV technical director at Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re excited by the high frame rate of Diablo IV running on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series hardware and DLSS 3.
