Patch 1.0.1.7 has landed for The Last of Us Part 1 on PC, and it doesn't improve the game's performance

The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version has received a new patch, and it doesn’t fix the game’s camera jitters issue

Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have release patch 1.01.7 for The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version, addressing several issues that PC gamers have faced.

Sadly, this patch does not fix the “camera jitters” issue for gamers using mouse based controls, something that Naughty Dog previously stated would be addressed with this update. This fix has been moved to a later update.

Naughty Dog has confirmed that they “are actively optimizing, working on game stability, and implementing additional fixes” to improve the game with future updates. Previously, Naughty Dog has stated that they plan to release another game update this Friday.

Alongside this update, Naughty Dog has pointed gamers with RTX 30 series graphics cards to Nvidia’s new GeForce 531.58 Hotfix driver, which addresses crashing issues within The Last of Us Part 1. When combined with patch 1.0.1.7, this new Nvidia driver should make The Last of Us Part 1 significantly more stable on PCs with RTX 30 series GPUs.

While it is great to see bug fixes and stability fixes with patch 1.0.1.7, The Last of Us Part 1 still has performance issues on PC. The good news is that Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have confirmed that they are “actively optimising” the game, which should mean that future updates should deliver performance enhancements.
