EK's new Nucleus Dark CPU liquid cooler promises affordable performance with no RGB

EK promises no RGB and lower pricing with their new Nucleus DARK series AIOs

When we tested their Nucleus CR360 LUX and CR240 LUX White CPU liquid coolers earlier this year, EK blessed us with products that offered the best performance levels and noise levels out of all of the CPU coolers that we have ever tested. Now, EK has expanded their Nucleus CR range with new DARK series models that offer buyers a stealthy all-black aesthetic and lower pricing then their LUX RGB enabled counterparts.

In our eyes, EK’s new Nucleus DARK series AIOs appeal to two sets of customers, those who demand the best price/performance levels from their purchases, and those who dislike RGB illumined products. With their new DARK series Nucleus AIOs, EK are offering buyers new 240mm and 360mm cooler options that feature lower prices and lack RGB lighting. Both AIOs feature the same underlying liquid cooling technology, which means that these AIOs should perform just as well as their RGB clad counterparts.

With the 360mm Nucleus DARK series model arriving with the same pricing as the 240mm Nucleus LUX D-RGB, purchasers of EK’s liquid cooling products can forgo RGB support to purchase a larger AIO, or simply purchase their AIOs at a lower price by removing their RGB elements. This make EK’s new Nucleus DARK series AIO CPU liquid coolers absolute bargains, assuming that you don’t care about their omission of RGB lighting support.

Without RGB lighting, EK’s latest AIOs do not have as much visual flare as their LUX series counterparts, but that’s the point. These AIOs are for those who want no RGB lighting, or want to use RGB lighting more subtly within their systems, and are intended to offer consumers lower prices and give purchasers the ability to avoid RGB lighting.
