These four Ubisoft games will soon be available on Steam

Ubisoft’s PC games are slowly returning to Steam, giving PC gamers the option to purchase their games on PC gaming’s most popular storefront. Now, it has been confirmed that Far Cry 6,  Riders Republic, Rainbow Six Extraction, and Monopoly Madness are all launching on Steam over the next few months, games that were previously only available on PC through Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store.

Far Cry 6 will be arriving on Steam on May 11th, Riders Republic will be coming to Steam on June 8th, Rainbow Six Extraction will be coming to Steam on June 15th, and Monopoly Madness will be coming to Steam on June 22nd.

Far Cry 6 and several other Ubisoft games are coming Steam soon

Since 2019, Ubisoft had skipped over Steam and opted to release their games on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store, two storefronts that allowed Ubisoft to earn higher margins from game sales. Typically, developers and publishers have to pay Steam a 30% cut of game sales revenue, but on the Epic Games Store Ubisoft only needed to pay 12%, and on Ubisoft Connect the company kept 100% of their sales revenue. Now, Ubisoft has decided to return to Steam, giving PC gamers more choice to decide where they can purchase their games.

At this time it is unclear why Ubisoft has decided to bring their games back to Steam. It could be that Ubisoft expects to make more money by selling their games on more storefronts, or that they have managed to strike a deal with Valve that will allow the publisher to retain a larger cut of games revenue. Either way, we are glad to see Ubisoft’s games return to Steam.
