AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 reportedly getting showcased at Computex

Expect to see new AMD GPUs at Computex

AMD’s RDNA 3 graphics architecture is, currently, only available on desktop in the form of their Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX, both of which are ultra-high-end products. So far, AMD’s RX 7000 series and their RDNA 3 architecture has not been launched in the form or more affordable desktop products, leaving the lower-end of the GPU market to be served by AMD’s aging RX 6000 series RDNA 2 GPU lineup. 

According to Igor’s Lab, some AMD partners are preparing to showcase Radeon RX 7600 graphics cards at Computex, suggesting that AMD may release lower-cost value-oriented RDNA 3 products before higher-end GPUs like their RX 7700 XT or RX 7800 XT.

Currently, it is unclear what AMD’s plans are for the GPU market in 2023, or when the company plans to release lower-end RDNA 3 based desktop graphics cards. AMD released their flagship RX 7000 series models in December 2022, and now over four months have passed and there are no signs of when the company plans to release their Radeon RX 7800 XT or Radeon RX 7700 XT. 

The GPU market is currently in a strange position, with consumers calling for lower prices at a time when inflation is high. Demand for mid-range products has also greatly diminished, leaving a lot of space for companies (AMD, Nvidia, and their board partners) to make a loss if they manufacture too many GPUs or lower their margins. Today’s GPU market is a difficult market, and it will be for the foreseeable future.
