The Lord of the Rings: Gollum receives an RTX trailer and detailed system requirements

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has received detailed PC system requirements ahead of launch

NVIDIA and Daedalic Entertainment have released a new RTX trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, confirming that the game will support DLSS 3 on PC as well as Nvidia Image Scaling (NIS), ray traced shadows, and ray traced reflections.

With DLSS 3 support, The Lord of The Rings Gollum will feature support for DLSS Frame Generation (DLSS 3), DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS 2), and Nvidia’s latency reducing Reflex technology. DLSS Super Resolution uses the AI power of RTX GPUs to upscale games to higher resolutions using lower resolution inputs, and DLSS Frame Generation uses the AI power of RTX 40 series GPUs to generate intermediate frames between traditionally rendered frames, effectively acting as a framerate doubler.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is due to release on PC on May 25th, with players taking control of Sméagol/Gollum.

When The Lord of the Rings: Gollum launches on May 25th, PC gamers with GeForce RTX hardware can accelerate performance with DLSS 3 and DLSS 2, and enjoy the ray-traced reflections and shadows at the highest possible frame rates. Additionally, all GeForce gamers can reduce system latency with NVIDIA Reflex, and GeForce GTX players can increase performance with our best-in-class platform-agnostic NVIDIA Image Scaling (NIS) spatial upscaler and sharpening algorithm.

Like most modern PC games, SSD-based storage is recommended when playing Lord of the Rings: Gollum, though the game will run from an HDD if required.

For 1080p gameplay at 60 FPS, Nvidia recommends using their RTX 3060 graphics card using this game’s medium preset, and if users enable ray tracing, Nvidia recommends the same graphics card for 1080p 60 FPS gameplay but with DLSS enabled in quality mode.

At 4K, Nvidia recommends their RTX 3070 graphics card for 4K high settings with DLSS set to performance mode. When ray tracing is added on, Nvidia recommends their RTX 4080 graphics card for 4K Epic settings with DLSS enabled. Since these system requirements come from Nvidia, no Radeon or Intel graphics cards are mentioned in the system requirements listings below.
