System Shock’s remake is launching this month, here’s what you need to run it

Prime Matter and Nightdive Studios have confirmed that System Shock’s remake has gone gold, confirming that the game is ready for its May 30th release date. This means that after years of delays, System Shock’s highly anticipated remake is finally ready to launch.

For the uninitiated, Prime Matter’s System Shock is a modern remake of the 1994 original that combines the gameplay of the cult classic with modern HD visuals, updated controls and a wide range of other improvements.

Unlike the original, 2023’s System Shock remake will also include new enemies, a revamped hacking system, and new visceral combat options. The game will also feature numerous quality of life improvements that will make the game more appealing to modern audiences.

Currently, System Shock’s remake is due to be released on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
