Sapphire’s Radeon RX 7600 brings RDNA 3 to the mainstream market with 8GB of memory

Sapphire’s Radeon RX 7600 has been pictured, a new RDNA 3 based graphics card from AMD that promises mainstream pricing and should deliver a significant performance boost over the GPU’s predecessor, the Radeon RX 6600.

According to Videocardz, the Radeon RX 7600 features 32 RDNA 3 Compute Units (CUs), giving the graphics card 2048 stream processors. The graphics card also reportedly features an PCIe 4.0 8x connection, and not a PCIe 4.0 16x connection like AMD’s higher-end RDNA 3 products.

Below we can see that Sapphire’s Radeon RX 7600 8GB features an 8-pin PCIe power connector, giving the GPU access to up to 150W of power though its 8-pin connector and up to 75 watts of power from its PCIe connector. This gives AMD’s RX 7600 a maximum TDP of 225 watts. Given its 8GB frame buffer size, it is probable that the RX 7600 features a 128-bit GDDR6 memory bus.

When compared to AMD’s RDNA 2 based Radeon RX 6600, the RX 7600 features four additional compute units. This gives the RX 7600 more than 14% more stream processors than its predecessors. Beyond that, the RX 7600 features the benefits of AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture, which includes new dual-issue SIMD units, and a range of other enhancements. As such, the RX 7600 should be able to deliver more performance per compute unit than its predecessor. The graphics card is also expected to target higher GPU core clock speeds and feature faster GDDR6 memory.

With all of these changes in mind, AMD’s RX 7600 is likely to offer gamers a substantial performance improvement over its predecessor. That said, it remains to be seen how AMD will price this new graphics card, or how it will compare with Nvidia’s future RTX 40 series offerings at this price point.
