AMD’s Mini RDNA 3 RX 7600 looks like an impressive and affordable graphics card

Thanks to Videocardz we can now have a look at AMD’s reference design for their RDNA 3 powered Radeon RX 7600 graphics card, a GPU that is due to launch later this week and revamp AMD’s low-end GPU lineup.

Sadly, the pricing for AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 has not been confirmed, but its RX 7600 (non-XT) branding suggests that AMD are targeting an aggressive price for this new RDNA 3 GPU. Videocardz has also reported that this new GPU is based on TSMC’s 6nm lithography node, which should lower AMD’s manufacturing costs when compared with an equivalent TSMC 5nm graphics card.

AMD’s reference MBA (made By AMD) Radeon RX 7600 graphics card features a dual-fan heatsink design and a full cover backplate. The graphics card appears to be powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, and reportedly features three DisplayPort 2.1 connectors and a single HDMI 2.1 output.

In many ways, AMD’s RX 7600 appears to be more similar to AMD’s RX 6600 XT than the RX 6600 that it replaces, featuring the same memory bus size and number of compute units as AMD’s RX 6600 XT. That said, the RX 7600 features new RDNA 3 compute units, which make the RX 7600 a more advanced and capable graphics card. Beyond that, the RX 7600 features faster GDDR6 memory, and should be able to deliver more computational performance per CU than AMD’s RDNA 2 powered RX 6600 XT.

If the above specifications are correct, AMD’s RX 7600 will feature higher clock speeds, more (and faster) compute units, and faster GDDR6 memory than AMD’s RX 6600 graphics card. This should give AMD’s low-end GPU lineup a healthy performance boost and more value for money, should AMD maintain similar pricing to their last-generation GPU models.

AMD are reportedly launching their Radeon RX 7600 graphics cards on May 25th, one day after Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti launch.
