AVerMedia to showcase their first HDMI 2.1 capture cards at Computex 2023

AVerMedia teases USB and PCIe HDMI 2.1 capture cards

At Computex 2023, AVerMedia will be showcasing two new capture cards, both of which will feature HDMI 2.1 connectivity, which likely means that they will be able to pass-through 4K 120Hz content (an possibly capture it).

Starting off at the high-end we have the Live Game 4K 2.1 (GC575), which will be a slim PCIe capture card that features an HDMI In and an HDMI Out connection. This capture card will be AVerMedia’s new flagship capture card, and it looks like this capture card may feature some for or LED illumination.

On the external side, AVerMedia are also revealing their new Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 (GC553G2) capture card, which appears to feature RGB illumination and will also feature HDMI 2.1 In and HDMI 2.1 Out connections.

The important improvements that these capture cards offer is 4K 120Hz pass-through, which is a big deal for streamers who want to play their games at high resolutions and framerates when they are streaming. HDMI 2.0 capture cards are limited to 4K at 60 FPS, which is considered limiting for many competitive gamers.

AVerMedia are the first company to bring a consumer-grade HDMI 2.1 capture device to market, and their main competitor Elgato has currently not revealed an HDMI 2.1 product to compete with these new AVerMedia offerings.

Sadly, we do not have pricing or availability information for these new AVerMedia products, though we expect to hear more information about them at Computex.
