Assassin's Creed Mirage receives a gameplay walkthrough, a Story trailer, and a release date

Ubisoft dives deep into Assassin’s Creed Mirage

At their latest Forward showcase, Ubisoft gave gamers a deeper look at Assassin’s Creed Mirage, confirming that the game will be launching this year on October 12th.

Ubisoft has released a new Story Trailer and Gameplay Walkthrough for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, showcasing the game’s interpretation of 9th century Bagdad, and the game’s increased focus on its stealth and parkour elements.

In a sense, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a return to the origins of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, when enemies were not damage sponges and a well placed dagger could put any enemy down. Even the game’s visuals can be augmented to look like Ubisoft’s original Assassin’s Creed title, thanks to the game’s “desaturated filter”.

In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you are Basim, a cunning street thief with nightmarish visions, seeking answers and justice. After an act of deadly retribution, Basim flees Baghdad and joins an ancient organization – The Hidden Ones. As he learns their mysterious rituals and powerful tenets, he will hone his unique abilities, discover his true nature, and come to understand a new Creed – one that will change his fate in ways he never could have imagined.

With Assassin’s Creed Mirage, gamers can expect fewer RPG elements than the series’ more recent entries, and some missions will be formatted at almost Hitman-style Assassination missions. Tools like blow darts and smoke bombs can be used to great effect within Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and parkour and stealth will be more important than ever. As mentioned before, enemies will not be as damage spongey, and players can be killed more easily by NPCs.

On PC, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available through both the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft’s Connect launcher. The game will not be available on Steam at launch.
