It looks like Metal Gear Solid 4 is breaking free of PlayStation 3 exclusivity

It looks like Metal Gear Solid 4 is breaking free of PlayStation 3 exclusivity

Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 should bring MGS4 to non-PlayStation platforms

When Konami revealed Volume 1 of their Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, one of the first questions that we asked ourselves was “what games will be in Volume 2?” Now, it looks like Volume 2 of Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Master Collection will include games like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes.

This information comes thanks to the Metal Gear Solid fans who have analysed Konami’s website, who have uncovered inactive buttons on the Metal Gear Solid website that should eventually link to Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.

What’s important about this leak is that it looks like Metal Gear Solid 4 will be launching on new platforms, breaking the game free from its PlayStation 3 exclusivity. This will allow gamers on Xbox and PC to finally play Metal Gear Solid 4 natively on their systems, opening the game up to new audiences.

Currently, Metal Gear Solid 4 is only playable through PlayStation 3 or on PC through emulation. Soon, this should change. This leaves us with one question though, will Konami remove Metal Gear Solid’s PlayStation 3 related jokes from the game’s Xbox/PC re-releases?

We expect Konami to reveal their Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2 later this year.
