Nvidia's RTX 4060 Ti 16GB is due to launch on July 18th

Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB retail embargo leaks – The GPU’s launching on July 18th

Based on a leaked embargo for retailers, system builders and other partners, it looks like Nvidia’s new 16GB RTX 4060 Ti model will be launching on July 18th, allowing customers to purchase RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards with a 2x memory boost.

Nvidia’s already available RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards contain 8GB of GDDR6 memory, a specification that has annoyed many PC gamers. Many new PC games can utilise more than 8GB of VRAM when played at high or ultra settings, especially at high resolutions, and most creator-focused workloads benefit from having access to a larger frame buffer.

With an MSRP that is $100 higher than their already expensive $399 RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti 16GB will offer buyers a frame buffer that is the same size as Nvidia’s RTX 4080. That said, Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB should not offer users any more memory bandwidth than its 8GB counterpart, as both models will still feature a 128-bit memory bus.

Currently, Nvidia appears to have no plans to release 16GB RTX 4060 (non-Ti) graphics cards, and AMD has not revealed any of their mid-range Radeon RX 7000 series RDNA 3 graphics cards.

Nvidia’s planned RTX 4060 Ti 16GB graphics card will launch this month without a Founders Edition model, making this GPU an AIB-exclusive model. This means that we should see RTX 4060 16GB models from companies like ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, Palit, and more.
