Payday 3 is a lot easier to run than expected

Payday 3’s PC system requirements are here, and you won’t need a mega powerful PC to run it

Starbreeze and Deep Silver are launching Payday 3 on September 21st, and on the game’s official Steam page, the game’s PC system requirements have just been released. 

Payday 3 is the highly anticipated sequel to 2013’s Payday 2, the high-octane co-op heist shooter, with players taking control of the Payday gang once again to grab every valuable that they can get a hold of. 

At launch, Payday 3 will utilise Unreal Engine 4, though Starbreeze has confirmed plans to upgrade the game to Unreal Engine 5 after launch, delivering new features and graphical improvements. 

The good news for PC gamers is that Payday 3 will be relatively easy to run, with Intel’s i5-9400K and i7-9700K being the game’s minimum and recommended processors. With these CPU requirements, users of most modern 6 core processors should be able to run Payday 3 with ease.

    PAYDAY 3 is the much anticipated sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters ever. Since its release, PAYDAY-players have been reveling in the thrill of a perfectly planned and executed heist. That’s what makes PAYDAY a high-octane, co-op FPS experience without equal.

Step out of retirement back into the life of crime in the shoes of the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers and the nightmare of law-enforcement wherever they go. Several years after the crew’s reign of terror over Washington DC has ended, they assemble once again to deal with the threat that roused them out of early retirement.

GPU-wise, Payday 3 will be playable on GPUs as low-end as Nvidia’s GTX 1650 4GB, a relatively weak GPU by today’s standards, with Nvidia’s GTX 1080 being recommended. Sadly, AMD CPU and GPU requirements have not been listed for Payday 3, and it is unknown if the game will be playable on portable PC gaming devices like Valve’s Steam Deck.
