AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT is now available for under £700 in the UK

AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT has received a huge price drop at UK retailers

If you’ve read our review of AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT, you will know what we think of AMD’s launch price for this graphics card. Simply put, £899.99 was too much for the performance that AMD were offering, with their higher-end RX 7900 XTX offering gamers more value for money in simple performance per £ terms.

Now, AMD’s RX 7900 XT is available at much lower prices, with Overclockers UK selling ASRock’s RX 7900 XT Phantom Gaming OC and Sapphire’s RX 7900 XT Pulse for £699.99. That’s £150 less than AMD’s recommended retail price for this graphics card, and less than any Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti that we have seen at UK retailers. Better still, both of these GPUs will come with a free copy of Starfield, one of this year’s biggest RPGs.

At £699.99, these RX 7900 XT graphics cards cost as much as a premium Nvidia RTX 4070 model, and less than even the cheapest RTX 4070 Ti, at least at the time of writing. VRAM-wise, this graphics card features 20GB of GDDR6 memory, which is more than any current-generation RTX 40 series graphics card, except for Nvidia’s current flagship, the RTX 4090. These GPUs also feature support for DisplayPort 2.1, something that no current generation Nvidia GeForce graphics card supports.

At its current pricing, AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT offers PC gamers a lot of value for money, and signals that AMD’s lower-end RX 7000 series graphics cards should be targeting £500 or lower price points. 

On the higher-end, AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX is now available for under £900 at Overclockers UK, which is lower than the Radeon RX 7900 XT’s original RRP. Additionally, AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 is now available for under £230, signalling that AMD may have lowered their GPU prices across the board.
