4K OLED at 240Hz - Dough's latest monitor promises to impress

Dough reveals their plans to launch a 32-inch 4K 240Hz OLED Gaming monitor in 2024

Dough has just revealed what could be the ultimate gaming monitor, a 32-inch 4K 240Hz OLED screen that supports Black Frame Insertion (BFI), ships with either a matte black or a a glossy Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

If you have not heard of Dough, there are two main reasons why. The first is that the company is relatively new to the monitor market, and the second is that the company was formerly called Eve, with the company changing their name to Dough in mid-2022.

Dough is famous for their Spectrum series of gaming displays, a series that started off as a crowd funded project that aimed to create the ultimate gaming monitor. Now, Dough is working with display manufacturers to create more high-end gaming screens, and their new 32-inch 4K 240Hz OLED Spectrum Black Edition is their newest, and most high-end monitor to date.

Like the company’s other Spectrum Black series displays, their new 32-inch OLED monitor will support Black Frame Insertion (BFI), a technology that can enhance motion clarity by inserting an all-black frame between all lit frames. Dough has also stated that these new 4K monitors will feature DisplayPort, HDMI, and USB-C 100W inputs for upstream connections, and that these monitors will also feature USB Type-C, USB Type-A (for a USB Hub) and a 3.5mm audio jack output.

Dough believes that they will be able to ship with 32-inch 4K 240Hz OLED gaming monitors in April 2024, and that they will deliver the “first monitor in the market offering 4K at 240 Hz”. Dough is infamous for being overly optimistic about their shipping dates, so we will take this claim with a grain of salt.

Since Dough is not the manufacturer behind the OLED screens inside their planned 32-inch Spectrum Black displays, it is probable that other manufacturers are racing to bring their own competing 32-inch 4K 240Hz OLED gaming monitors to market first.

Early Order Price and Full Retail Price

For early backers, Dough plans to offer gamers their new Spectrum Black 32-inch 240Hz OLED gaming monitors for $699 and $799 for their matte and glass models respectively, with prices slowly increasing to their final retail prices of $1099 and $1299. Douch does not have a great history when it comes to pre-orders.

Dough’s checkered history

There will be readers who are wondering why we are writing about a Dough monitor. Simply put, Dough, formerly Eve, has a spotty track record when it comes to pre-orders and release targets. Dough’s products have often launched later than expected, and many customers have had trouble getting refunds, or getting Dough to ship their pre-ordered monitors. This is why Dough has a horrendously bad review rating on Trustpilot.

Dough has claimed that these early issues are behind them now, and have confirmed that they will be shipping their new Spectrum Black monitors through retailers like Amazon (UK, FR, IT, & DE), Digitech Switzerland, B&H, and other retailers.
