Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has been showcased at Gamescom 2023
Patch 2.0 will bring major changes to Cyberpunk 2077 on PC and current-gen consoles, even without Phantom Liberty
CD Projekt Red has been busy showcasing Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion at Gamescom, which is due to launch next month alongside update 2.0 for the PC and current-generation console versions of Cyberpunk 2077.Â
Patch 2.0 will bring major changes to Cyberpunk 2077 when Phantom Liberty launches next month, adding many of the expansion’s new features to all Cyberpunk 2077 players. Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red has not given us a full rundown on which features will be coming through update 2.0, and which features will be coming through Phantom Liberty, though it is safe to assume that all new story content and most new items will be limited to Phantom Liberty purchasers, and major gameplay changes will come with patch 2.0.
With the release of Phantom Liberty and Patch 2.0, Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a new district of Night City to explore, a revamped skill tree, new abilities, a reworked cyberware system, and a new police system. The game will also feature over 100 new items, including weapons, fashion, and cyberware, a combat AI overhaul, and a vehicle combat system. Thanks to the release of Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 finally looks like the game it was meant to be.
DLSS 3.5 and RT Overdrive on PC
At Gamescom, CD Projekt Red and Nvidia showcased Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty running on PC with DLSS 3.5. DLSS 3.5 adds DLSS Ray Reconstruction to the game alongside DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation, enhancing the quality of Cyberpunk 2077’s ray tracing on PC while also giving the game a small performance boost.
With DLSS 3.5, Cyberpunk 2077 will look better than ever on Nvidia RTX 40 series powered PCs in the game’s RT Overdrive mode.
