Cyberpunk 2077’s huge Update 2.0 will land before the release of the game’s Phantom Liberty Expansion

Cyberpunk 2077’s patch 2.0 promises to be game-changing for Cyberpunk 2077, offering gamers a huge number of enhancements, and an overhaul of many of the game’s basic systems. Patch 2.0 will be coming to Cyberpunk 2077 on PC, and current-generation consoles, the same platforms that will be receiving Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion, which is due to launch on September 26th. 

CD Projekt Red’s Marcin Momot has confirmed that patch 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 will be arriving before the release of the game’s Phantom Liberty expansion, giving gamers access to the game’s revamped content before the release of the additional story content. Sadly, Momot has not revealed the release date of patch 2.0, though we can expect it to arrive earlier in September that Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty expansion. 

Patch 2.0 will feature a redesigned perk system and a new cyberware system as well as revamped police and vehicle combat systems. The patch will also add weaponised vehicles to the game, as well as new car chase sequences. The game’s combat AI has also been overhauled.

With the release of patch 2.0, Cyberpunk 2077 will deliver gamers a new gameplay experience, and finally deliver what many gamers expected from Cyberpunk 2077 at launch. Gamers do not need to wait for a Cyberpunk sequel to see the game live up to its universe, as patch 2.0 is adding many requested features and overhauls to Cyberpunk 2077. 

While Phantom Liberty will bring its own changes to Cyberpunk 2077, the game’s 2.0 update arguably brings more impactful changes to CD Projekt Red’s First-Person RPG. Thanks to the release of update 2.0, Cyberpunk 2077 finally looks like the game it was meant to be.
