Want to scratch that RTS itch? Tempest Rising how has a free Demo on Steam

Tempest Rising’s first playable demo is now available on Steam

It has been a while since we have seen a good RTS game on PC, but it is clear that there is demand for some classic 1990s/2000s era base building action. Why else would we see remasters of classic Command and Conquer titles, and StarCraft? Yes, the golden age of the RTS genre is over, but that does not mean that there is no demand for something fresh.

A fully playable demo for Tempest Rising is now available to play on Steam, allowing gamers to play the first two campaign missions for the game’s Global Defence Force (GDF) and Tempest Dynasty factions. The game’s third faction is unannounced, and will be revealed closer to the game’s launch.

Tempest Rising is a new RTS game from THQ Nordic that takes place in a modern day alternative history scenario and features classic RTS tropes that include base building, a trio of distinct factions, a lengthy single-player campaign, and a soundtrack that sounds a lot like Frank Klepacki (it’s not made by him).

It’s high-time that we released the full demo for Tempest Rising. Get a taste for Tempest Rising in this playable demo! Experience the first mission of both the Global Defence Forces and the Tempest Dynasty in their desperate struggle for dominance and resources. The classic Real-Time Strategy experience that you love and remember.

Classic RTS action meets modern production and performance in Tempest Rising. Inspired by RTS greats of the 1990s and 2000s, Tempest Rising is a classic, base-building real time strategy game set in a modern day alternative history war scenario. It features 3 unique factions, each with its own approach to combat and economy and offering a variety of strategies for players of all stripes, maps with neutral structures to contest and neutral populations to contend with, deep and rewarding gameplay that keeps a focus on strategy while rewarding skill.

Experience the first mission of two playable factions, the Global Defense Force and the Tempest Dynasty in the brand new demo.

When the game launches, Tempest Rising will feature full campaigns for the game’s GDF and Tempest Dynasty factions, each of which will be 15 missions long. The game’s demo version will give gamers a taste of what to expect, but based on the trailer, this game has a lot of classic Command and Conquer energy.
