Leaked benchmarks place AMD's RX 7700 XT close to their RX 6800 XT

Leaked benchmarks showcase impressive performance numbers for AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT

AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT will be launching on September 6th, giving gamers access to a new RDNA 3 graphics card that features 12GB of GDDR6 memory, 54 compute units, and 108 AI accelerators.

While reviews for AMD’s latest graphics cards are not live yet, that has not stopped leakers from giving hardware enthusiasts a glimpse of the performance of AMD’s newest graphics cards, with HXL on Twitter revealing a 3DMARK Time Spy score for AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT.

With a score of 17,000 points, AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT delivers performance levels that sit between AMD’s RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT, placing the new graphics card far ahead of AMD’s last-generation Radeon RX 6700 XT.

With a price tag of $449/€489, AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT is only $50/€60 cheaper than the company’s 16GB Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card, giving AMD’s Radeon RX 7800 XT a substantial memory bandwidth upgrade despite a relatively minor compute unit count increase from 54 to 60. Add on the RX 7700 XT’s slower GDDR6 memory, and the Radeon RX 7800 XT has 11% more compute units and over 40% more memory bandwidth. On paper, the Radeon RX 7800 XT smashes AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT in terms of value, especially for bandwidth heavy PC games. We will have to wait for reviews to see how these differences play out in reality.
