Nvidia users rejoice! - A free DLSS 3 mod for Starfield has landed

A free DLSS 3 mod for Starfield is now available

Yesterday, we reported on a paid mod that added Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology to Starfield, replacing the game’s FSR 2 implementation with DLSS Super Resolution while also adding support for DLSS Frame Generation. Now, another modder called LukeFZ has created another DLSS 3 mode for Starfield, but this mod is freely available to PC gamers on Nexus Mods.

Today’s new DLSS 3 mod for Starfield adds support for DLSS Super Resolution by replacing the game’s FSR 2 implementation, allowing users of Nvidia’s RTX series GPUs to benefit from Nvidia’s AI enhanced upscaling technology. RTX 40 series GPU owners also have the added benefit of DLSS Frame Generation, a relatively new technology that boosts the framerate of games by creating a new frame using AI every other frame.

On Nexus Mods, LukeFZ provided the below image to showcase the kinds of framerate gains that his DLSS Frame Generation mod can deliver.

This DLSS 3 mod for Starfield lacks an in-game menu that can be used to enable to disable DLSS Frame Generation. Users must disable and enable DLSS Frame Generation using a configuration file for the mod.

Starfield players can download LukeFZ’s DLSS 3 mod for Starfield on Nexus Mods.
